Manchester United's young talent suffered a severe head injury and was carried off, resulting in the match being canceled! Amorim has called up one player to prepare for Arsenal.

Manchester United midfielder Sekou Kone has faced another serious injury. During a National League Cup match on Wednesday, he collided head-on with an opponent, leading to a critical situation where he was immediately carried off on a stretcher, causing the match to be canceled.

The National League Cup differs from the English League Cup, which is also known as the Carabao Cup and features first-team matches, while the National League Cup is for under-21 level competitions.

Manchester United's opponent was the relatively unknown Tamworth. Just before halftime, in the 42nd minute, Kone went down in his own penalty area after a header challenge with an opposing player.

Initially, he managed to stand after treatment but soon lay back down. After further emergency care, he was taken away on a stretcher with an oxygen mask on his face. Kone was transported to the hospital by ambulance on-site, leading to the cancellation of the match due to the need for a replacement ambulance, which was not available.

Manchester United subsequently released an official statement: "The National League Cup match held at Tamworth was forced to be suspended just before halftime. The game was interrupted due to an injury to young midfielder Sekou Kone's head in our penalty area, and he was carried off on a stretcher. We can confirm that Sekou is conscious, stable, and in communication with Manchester United's medical team. For safety reasons, he has been sent to the hospital for further examination. Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery."

Nineteen-year-old Kone hails from Mali, and Manchester United had high hopes when they signed him, comparing him to African legends Yaya Toure and Michael Essien in the Premier League. However, Kone has faced misfortune in the youth team, suffering serious injuries in both seasons.

At the end of last year, Kone made his first start for Manchester United U21 against Huddersfield, where he suffered an ankle injury and left the field on crutches, wearing a protective boot. Notably, he was also injured in the 42nd minute of that match, and his jersey number with the first team is exactly 42!

This summer, Kone participated in Manchester United's preseason training but ultimately did not feature in any of the warm-up matches arranged by Amorim. However, he did get playing time during last season's Asian playoff tour, appearing for 19 minutes against the Hong Kong representative team.

Last season, Kone was included in the Premier League matchday squad three times but did not make his debut. The Daily Mail reported that Manchester United had considered loaning him to Lausanne Sport, owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Switzerland, but injuries may hinder his further development.

This season, Manchester United does not have European football, leaving little room for squad rotation, as evidenced by the preseason. Kone needs to stay injury-free and strive for a loan to a European club to adapt to the pace of European football.

Manchester United has officially confirmed that another youth talent, Jack Fletcher, will train with the first team in preparation for the Premier Leagueopening match against Arsenal on Sunday at Old Trafford. Eighteen-year-old Fletcher is one of the twin sons of former player Darren Fletcher and plays as a midfielder. He has been included in the Premier League matchday squad seven times last season and participated in two warm-up matches against West Ham and Leeds this summer. In the new season, young Fletcher may receive more attention from Amorim than Kone.
