Inter Milan is interested in re-signing Onana, and may compete with Manchester United for a Belgian league rising star! Donnarumma’s astonishing salary is revealed.

Manchester United lost to Arsenal in their Premier League opener on Sunday, and once again, it was a familiar story for fans—goalkeeper errors. Compared to last season, United’s attack has improved significantly, with new signings Mbeumo and Cunha standing out. However, Bayindir’s weakness in defending corners led to a costly goal. In contrast, Arsenal’s keeper David Raya made several brilliant saves, including keeping out similar corner threats.

This has fueled rumors about United bringing in a new goalkeeper, but any move will depend on both current keepers, Andre Onana and Bayindir, leaving the club. According to British media, Inter Milan is keeping a close eye on their former player Onana’s situation.

Although Onana, 29, has recovered from injury, he was left out of the squad for the Arsenal match. After the game, Amorim insisted that it wasn’t a case of dropping Onana: “I didn’t drop Onana, I just selected two other players ahead of him. I’m satisfied with our three goalkeepers.”

Nevertheless, speculation about United’s goalkeeping situation continues, with legend Gary Neville publicly stating: “Manchester United can’t ignore an obvious problem—they need to find a goalkeeper. They must do it, I have no doubt. During my 20 years at United, there were two crucial periods, working with Schmeichel and Van der Sar for seven or eight years each. Now, they have to solve the keeper issue, or they’ll keep conceding and dropping points. It will keep undermining the team’s performance.”

Onana’s performances since joining have been considered unworthy of his €50 million price tag. But Inter might welcome him back, as Onana remains a hero at the San Siro for helping the club reach the 2023 Champions League final, even though they lost to Manchester City.

The Nerazzurri believe Onana would be happy to return. Since his departure, they signed Yann Sommer, who has also excelled and helped the team reach the Champions League final. However, after coach Simone Inzaghi left, new manager Chivu is keen to bring in a younger goalkeeper. Sommer is good, but he’ll turn 37 by the end of the year.

If Inter can’t get Onana, they may target 23-year-old Royal Antwerp keeper Senne Lammens, who is also on United’s radar! So, sending Onana back to Inter could benefit United as well, potentially helping Amorim sign the Belgian keeper.

Manchester United has already ruled out signing 26-year-old Italian international Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, as the “moneybags” is demanding an outrageous salary. Reportedly, he wants a 50% increase on his current £210,000 weekly wage!

Moreover, that £210,000 a week is after tax—Donnarumma earns a post-tax annual salary of €12 million at PSG. This means his requested wage would reach the Premier League’s typical pre-tax £600,000 per week. Even if he keeps his current salary, moving to the Premier League would require £400,000 weekly. At present, Donnarumma has had preliminary contact with Manchester City.

Some United fans, including Neville, hope to see Donnarumma join the club, but that seems unlikely. Besides his massive wage demands, Donnarumma has his flaws. He’s good at saving penalties, but his footwork is average, and more importantly, he struggles with high balls into the box—a potential problem in the Premier League. That’s also why PSG boss Luis Enrique considers new signing Lucas Chevalier a more attractive option for his team.
