The first round of the 2025/26 V-League ended with 20 goals scored. Notably, local players and overseas Vietnamese dominated by scoring 12 of those, while foreign players managed only 8 goals.
Looking at statistics from recent seasons, foreign players have typically accounted for 55–65% of the goals, with South American, African, and Eastern European forwards often leading the attack. However, the balance has shifted right from the opening round of this new season.
This outcome partly demonstrates the rising quality of domestic players, as well as a shift in the tactical approach of many clubs.
