The Indonesia U17 squad plans to hold a training camp in Europe prior to competing in the 2025 U17 World Cup.
To ensure thorough preparation for the 2025 U17 World Cup, the Indonesia U17 team is arranging a training camp in Europe.
Specifically, the young players from the archipelago will train in Bulgaria from September 1 to 14. Afterwards, coach Nova Arianto’s team will likely continue their preparations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before officially heading to Qatar for the 2025 U17 World Cup.
These training camps not only help the Indonesia U17 team improve their fitness and tactics, but also provide valuable international experience and adaptation to various playing conditions ahead of the world’s biggest stage.
Indonesia U17 earned their spot at the 2025 U17 World Cup after a memorable run in the Asian U17 Championship. The team surprised everyone by defeating South Korea in their opening match, then maintained excellent form to secure six points against Yemen and Afghanistan. This achievement put Indonesia U17 at the top of their group, securing one of two tickets to the prestigious U17 tournament.
Notably, Indonesia U17 is the only Southeast Asian representative at the World Cup, as Vietnam and Thailand failed to progress past the group stage.
In the U17 World Cup finals, Indonesia is placed in Group H alongside Brazil, Honduras, and Zambia.
Recently, Indonesia U17 has just completed the Independence Cup four-nation tournament held on home soil, where the Southeast Asian side faced Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Mali—three teams also participating in the U17 World Cup—and achieved commendable results.
In the opening match, Indonesia U17 impressively defeated Uzbekistan, then drew with Tajikistan, and narrowly lost to Mali in the final round. Ultimately, coach Nova Arianto’s squad finished second with four points, just behind Mali.
