Alcaraz sets a record that even Nadal and Djokovic must acknowledge.

Alcaraz has served as the key player for Team Europe in the past two Laver Cup tournaments.

At 22 years old, Carlos Alcaraz continues to solidify his role as a mainstay for Team Europe in the post-Roger Federer era. During the 2025 Laver Cup, the Spanish player earned 7 points, including 2 crucial victories on the final day. Despite a loss to Taylor Fritz, Alcaraz’s total points after two appearances reached 15.

This achievement places Alcaraz among the top 5 highest point scorers in Laver Cup history — an impressive milestone given he has only competed twice. Alongside his debut in Berlin last year, where he scored 8 points and secured the decisive win, the Spaniard is demonstrating remarkable consistency and composure in this prestigious team event.

Carlitos’s rapid rise is truly astonishing. With 15 points, he has matched the records of John Isner and Taylor Fritz. Even Roger Federer, the Laver Cup co-founder, needed four appearances to reach 18 points. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are not in the top 10, with 6 and 4 points respectively. If he maintains this form, Alcaraz could equal the Swiss Maestro’s record in London next year.

On the leaderboard, Jack Sock holds second place with 20 points from four tournaments, while Alexander Zverev leads with 21 points after six appearances. However, Sascha was unable to improve his record this year, losing to Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz in San Francisco.

The 7 points earned at this year’s Laver Cup were not enough for Team Europe to defend their title, as Jakub Mensik and Alexander Zverev lost to Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz on the final day — where each win counts for 3 points. Ultimately, Team World defeated Europe 15-9.

After concluding his Laver Cup journey, Carlos Alcaraz will soon head to Asia to compete in the 2025 Japan Open, where he will face Sebastian Baez in his opening match.
