A New King is Crowned — Bublyk Claims the 2025 Lynk & Co Hangzhou Open Men's Singles Title

On the night of September 23, Bublyk clinched the second set tiebreak with a forceful forehand winner along the baseline, overcoming Ruyaie 2-0 (7-6(4)/7-6(4)) to claim the men's singles title. This marked the successful conclusion of the 2025 Lynk & Co Hangzhou Tennis Open.

From the first round of the qualifiers on September 16 to the men's singles final on September 23, across eight days and 54 matches, nearly 60 of the world’s top tennis players gathered at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Tennis Center (Little Lotus) to deliver an exciting tennis spectacle for the audience.

In the men's singles final, French dark horse Ruyaie faced the tournament's third seed, Bublyk. The first set was fiercely contested, reaching 6-6 and leading to a tiebreak, where Bublyk took the set with a service winner. In that set, Bublyk served 10 aces with a first-serve success rate of 84%, making his serve his strongest weapon. In the second set, Bublyk maintained his momentum, quickly going up 3-1, but an adjusted Ruyaie fought back to level at 3-3. Both players held their serves afterward, pushing the match into another tiebreak. After an intense battle, Bublyk emerged victorious, winning both sets 7-6 to secure the 2025 Lynk & Co Hangzhou Tennis Open title.

This is Bublyk’s first championship in China. He said that before starting the China season, he was dealing with some injuries and wasn’t sure if he could make it to Hangzhou. “This is my first time in Hangzhou, and I’m very glad I played well here. Thanks to everyone! I want to dedicate my trophy to my three-year-old son.”

Runner-up Ruyaie was moved to tears after the match. Starting from the qualifiers, he defeated three seeded players in the main draw, including top seed Rublev, to reach the final. “This is my first time reaching a tour semifinal and final. I have so many wonderful memories here in Hangzhou. Thanks to Hangzhou and all the fans who supported me,” Ruyaie said.

In the men's doubles final held earlier that afternoon, top seeds Francisco Cabral (Portugal) and Lucas Miedler (Austria) defeated Nicolás Barrientos (Colombia) and David Pel (Netherlands) 2-0 (6-4/6-4) to claim the 2025 Lynk & Co Hangzhou Tennis Open men’s doubles championship.

At the award ceremony, Cabral and Miedler both expressed that this was their first time competing in Hangzhou and described their week-long stay as a dream trip. “Many thanks to every staff member of the Hangzhou Tennis Open, the sponsors, my partner and team, our opponents, and all the fans watching live and online. It’s everyone’s effort that made this event such a success,” said Miedler. Cabral added that winning this title motivates them to return and defend it, and it also boosts their confidence for their upcoming Tokyo trip. “Thank you to everyone who came out on a weekday afternoon to cheer us on. Your support drives us to perform at our best and deliver a truly top-level match. We appreciate your attention.”

Although they finished as runners-up, Barrientos and Pel rated their performance highly: “We have partnered in past seasons, but this was our first ATP tour final. We gave it our all and are very satisfied with how we played.” They also extended deep gratitude to the organizers: “This is an excellent venue. The passionate cheers and love for tennis from the crowd created an incredible atmosphere, allowing all players to enjoy the applause and the joy tennis brings. Thank you all.”
