“Hello! My fans from China and Shanghai! I am very happy to share that I will be coming back to Shanghai to compete in the Rolex Shanghai Masters. Over the years, I have had tremendous success here, and I look forward to meeting you all during the Golden Week at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. Shanghai, don't miss it! Really excited, see you soon!”
Tournament director Michael A. Luévano stated, “Djokovic is the most successful player in the history of the Rolex Shanghai Masters and the 2008 Tennis Masters Cup champion. His participation excites us immensely. At this stage in his career, every match he plays is historic. We are extremely delighted about this.”
As one of the most decorated players in tennis history, Djokovic’s participation will add even more excitement to Asia’s only ATP1000 Masters event. This tournament has been named “ATP 1000 Masters of the Year” five times and received the “ATP Excellence Standard Award” in 2024.
At 38 years old, Djokovic’s return writes a new chapter in his deep connection with Shanghai and its passionate tennis fans, bringing a surprising delight. Check out the tournament promo:

Sinner, Alcaraz, move aside, here comes Djokovic… Why is Zverev pushed to the back row? He and Djokovic will be seeded 3rd and 4th respectively. Draper being out is justified; he’s undergoing another major recovery and will end his 2025 season early.

The 2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters will showcase world-class tennis battles, unforgettable moments, and a unique festive atmosphere, making it one of the most anticipated events on the ATP Tour calendar.
