Alcaraz made a firm statement about Sinner ahead of the Asia tour.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have produced some thrilling head-to-head encounters within just the last four months.

Both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz — the current faces of world tennis — will kick off their Asia tour starting this week. While Alcaraz will participate in the Japan Open in Tokyo, Sinner has chosen Beijing for the China Open. Although not competing in the same event, both remain in the spotlight due to their fierce rivalry throughout the 2025 season.

Before the Japan Open 2025, Alcaraz stated that he is well aware that the Italian opponent will not repeat his previous style of play: "I know he will change something from the last match. I have done the same when I lost to him a few times. This time, I need to stay focused and be ready for that change."

Sinner and Alcaraz have each claimed 2 Grand Slam titles this year, sharing all 4 majors between them. Their two-player rivalry is expected to continue for many years to come.

Carlitos emphasized that he views the competition with Sinner as a major motivation: "This is something great not only for us but for tennis as a whole. The future will show how many times I meet him and under what circumstances. Right now, everything is going very well."

Before arriving in Tokyo, Alcaraz unexpectedly fell to Taylor Fritz at the 2025 Laver Cup, failing to help Team Europe defend their title. At this year’s Japan Open, the Spanish player will be the top seed and face Sebastian Baez in the opening round, while Fritz is seeded second and will face a tough challenge against Gabriel Diallo. The tournament also features notable players like Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, and Tomas Machac, among others.

The year 2025 marks Alcaraz’s most brilliant season, with victories at Roland Garros and the US Open, and only two losses since the Barcelona Open in mid-April.

"I have grown a lot. Of course, things could be better, but I cannot complain about this season."Alcaraz affirmed.
