On October 2nd, the 2025 China Open held the women's singles and doubles quarterfinal matches, with top-four seeds Gauff and Anisimova both making it to the semifinals, ready to face each other in a high-level duel!

In the first women's singles quarterfinal, defending champion Gauff won a tough battle with breaks of serve, defeating the dark horse from Germany, Lis, 6-3, 6-4, to reach the China Open women's singles semifinals for the third consecutive year. She also extended her winning streak at this event to ten matches. "As you progress deeper into the tournament, the matches become more challenging. Next, I will face two top players, so tougher battles lie ahead," Gauff said. In the semifinals, she will compete against fellow American Anisimova.

In another match, two players who have each been Grand Slam finalists and are both ranked in the top ten engaged in a spectacular three-set thriller. The match was full of exciting moments, captivating nearly full stands at the Diamond Court. Ultimately, third seed Anisimova, who was runner-up at both Wimbledon and the US Open this year, battled for 2 hours and 47 minutes to overturn sixth seed Paolini 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4, reaching the China Open semifinals for the first time!
After this hard-fought victory, Anisimova expressed great excitement, saying, "I really enjoy playing in Beijing and am looking forward to facing Gauff!" She also thanked the crowd in Chinese. Following Gauff’s quarterfinal win that secured her spot in the Finals, Anisimova’s semifinal triumph also guaranteed her first-ever Finals appearance. Thus, two players have earned their places in the Finals through this year's China Open.

In the women's doubles quarterfinals, the duo of Kato and Stollar defeated seventh seeds Babos and Stefani 6-2, 6-4, advancing to the Masters 1000 semifinals in their first collaboration. Their semifinal opponents will be the wildcard pair Han Tianyu and Muhova, who eliminated this year’s French Open finalists Danilina and Krunic 7-6(4), 6-3.
