On October 2, 2025, ATP officially confirmed that Spanish tennis star Alcaraz secured the 2025 ATP 500 series prize money crown by triumphing at the Tokyo event. This achievement not only adds another title to his season but also guarantees him the top spot on the annual leaderboard of this series ahead of time, earning him an extra prize money of at least $1 million, pushing his season earnings to a new record when combined with previous winnings.

So far this season, Alcaraz has delivered a dominant performance in the ATP 500 series. He has accumulated 1930 ATP ranking points, winning titles at Rotterdam, Queen’s Club, and Tokyo, while also reaching the final in Barcelona and the quarterfinals in Doha, showcasing consistent and impressive results overall.

Although two ATP 500 tournaments remain this season — the Swiss Indoors Basel and the Vienna Open, scheduled from October 20 to 26 — his victory in Tokyo has already secured him the year-end number one position.
It is reported that the total prize pool for the ATP 500 series reaches $3 million, which is distributed among the top six players on the annual leaderboard based on their participation. However, to qualify for the prize pool distribution, players must complete five ATP 500 events in the 2025 season and fulfill their seasonal participation commitments. Last year, $1.34 million was awarded to the top five point earners, with Arthur Fils receiving an additional $615,000 as the leader.
Following the conclusion of the Tokyo tournament, the 2025 ATP 500 prize money leaderboard is now clearly defined. After Alcaraz, Deminor ranks second with 1230 points, followed by Rublev (1030 points), Zverev (1000 points), Fokina (910 points), and Medvedev (880 points) occupying third to sixth places respectively. With the final two tournaments approaching, the rankings from third to sixth remain subject to change, promising intense competition ahead.
