Reaching her first WTA1000 singles final, Noskova met a better version of herself in Beijing

On October 5th, 2025 Beijing time, the women's singles final of the 2025 WTA1000 Beijing tournament was the highlight of the day. The 26th seed Noskova stood on the court for her career's first WTA1000 level singles final, facing off against the rising star and world No.4 Anisimova on the opposite side of the net.

Born in 2004, Noskova achieved great success during her junior years and quickly climbed into the top 30 after turning professional. At the 2023 WTA500 Adelaide event, she impressed by reaching the final as a qualifier, defeating strong opponents along the way, earning recognition as a promising talent; at the 2024 Australian Open, she upset then-world No.1 Swiatek in the third round and reached the quarterfinals; at the 2024 WTA500 Monterrey tournament, she won her first career title.

Nevertheless, the Beijing final was a completely new experience for Noskova. She had only briefly competed in the Asian season before, at the 2023 China Open, where she defeated wildcard Tian Fangran in the first round but withdrew before the second round. "Two years ago, I withdrew from the China Open and went home to rest, and last year I skipped the entire Asian season, so this year's experience is entirely different. When I arrived in Beijing, I just wanted to enjoy every match, accepting whatever happened. I might play well or not, but I focused only on myself, relaxing and enjoying the competition."

With this mindset of enjoying the matches, Noskova delivered outstanding performances in Beijing. After beating Wang Xiyu in the second round, she defeated the returning Zheng Qinwen in the third round, then went on to overcome Potapova and Katarina, reaching the WTA1000 singles semifinals for the first time in her career. In the semifinal against the 5th seed Pegula, the two battled fiercely in the deciding set. Noskova saved three match points on Pegula’s serve before winning a thrilling tiebreak. This landmark victory boosted her world ranking into the top 20 for the first time, surpassing all Czech players to become the new Czech No.1.

“Breaking into the top 20 has definitely been a major goal for me this year. At the same time, I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself. Competing against top players in such high-level tournaments, I should be grateful for what I have now, focus on myself, and enjoy my time on court. Letting things happen naturally is my life motto.”

Although she lost the final in three sets to Anisimova, finishing as runner-up, Noskova’s performance in this tournament gives her confidence heading into the next event. “Sometimes good results require the right timing, conditions, and support. I also realize there is still a gap between me and the top 10 or top 5 players. Many players remain ahead of me, but I will just take it slow and let things unfold naturally.”

Noskova’s all-around style and versatile skills make her a unique presence on the women’s tennis circuit. During matches, she often engages in baseline rallies with opponents, using clever shot combinations to break down defenses; her powerful and sudden attacks act like a sharp arrow, winning points decisively. With such youthful energy and a positive mindset, Noskova won many fans on her China trip. After finishing runner-up in Beijing, she expressed gratitude to the fans: “Many supporters came to cheer for me, and the atmosphere was very special and heartwarming. I felt a lot of support over these two weeks. I will also go to Wuhan, where I believe the great atmosphere will continue. I’m very thankful to everyone.”
