On October 5th Beijing time, following 12 days of fierce battles, the 2025 China Open wrapped up. Being Asia’s premier combined men’s and women’s tennis event, this year’s tournament led the tennis craze in China once more. The National Tennis Center recorded a total attendance of 360,000 during the event, up 20% from last year, with a peak single-day attendance surpassing 45,000 on September 27th, setting a new record for the tournament.

Rolex, as the official timekeeper and diamond sponsor of the China Open, accompanied the tournament through another remarkable year. Rolex ambassador Sinner claimed the title again, with the Diamond Court reaching a 97% occupancy rate during the final match, the highest single-session attendance of this edition.

2025 China Open Women’s Singles Champion: Anisimova
This season’s Wimbledon and US Open runner-up Anisimova captured the women’s singles title. Seeded third, she received a first-round bye and then cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory in her debut match. In the third round, Anisimova faced China’s Zhang Shuai in a thrilling showdown, narrowly winning a tense first-set tiebreak and advancing with a 7-6(11), 6-0 win. In the round of sixteen, she eliminated the 13th seed Muchova and the 6th seed Paolini consecutively.

In the semifinals, Rolex ambassador and defending champion Gauff brought out the best in Anisimova, who dominated the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Anisimova said, “It’s very exciting to reach the final in Beijing for the first time. This week has been very special, and I’m so happy to see so many fans supporting me. The atmosphere here is wonderful, and the support I received was truly amazing.”

In the final, Anisimova faced Noskova, who made her first WTA 1000 final after defeating strong opponents including returning Rolex ambassador Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xiyu, and Pegula. Anisimova started strong, winning the first set 6-0. Noskova fought back to take the second set 6-2. In the decisive third set, after a 2-2 tie, Anisimova surged ahead with a four-game streak and ultimately secured the championship with a 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 victory.
At the press conference, Anisimova stated, “These past weeks have been full of ups and downs. I’ve learned a lot and gained a better understanding of myself. I know how to face challenges and push myself further in tough moments. Sometimes, I’m stronger than I thought. But most importantly, reaching the final and winning the trophy is the greatest achievement.”

Additionally, Rolex ambassadors Swiatek, Andreescu, and Bencic all reached the round of sixteen at this China Open. Their fierce battles on the court earned applause from tennis fans worldwide, showcasing their impressive collective strength.

2025 China Open Women’s Doubles Champions: Paolini / Errani
In women’s doubles, defending champions Paolini and Errani fought their way through the draw. After sweeping the 4th seeds Hsieh Su-wei and Ostapenko in the semifinals, they overcame a first-set deficit in the final to rally back and win 6-7(1), 6-3, 10-2 against Kato Miyu and Stollar, securing the championship for the second consecutive year.
The successful title defense left Paolini and Errani visibly thrilled: “We first came to the China Open in 2023, and every time we return, we feel very happy. The organization here is excellent, the fans are very enthusiastic, and we really enjoy playing at this event. Although the China Open is a long tournament, our experience has always been great.”
