Leading the post-2000 generation, Czech Republic welcomes its new top female player!

The 2025 China Open is now complete, and in the most watched women’s singles championship battle, No. 3 seed Anisimova overcame Czech opponent Noskova with a score of 6-0, 2-6, 6-2, breaking her streak of three consecutive final losses this season and securing her second WTA 1000 level title.

This marks Anisimova’s fourth career singles title, making her the first American to win the China Open. In the latest world rankings, she stands fourth with 5989 points. The current top ten rankings are as follows:

No.1 Sabalenka - 11,010 points

No.2 Swiatek - 8,553 points

No.3 Gauff - 7,263 points

No.4 Anisimova - 5,989 points

No.5 Andreescu - 4,698 points

No.6 Pegula - 4,653 points

No.7 Keys - 4,459 points

No.8 Paolini - 4,156 points

No.9 Rybakina - 3,898 points

No.10 Zheng Qinwen - 3,678 points

After losing the points from last year’s runner-up finish at the Wuhan Open, Zheng Qinwen’s world ranking has dropped further, now sitting at tenth this week. It is expected her ranking will decline more as the season progresses.

For Noskova, although she didn’t clinch her most significant career title at the China Open, the points earned from finishing runner-up will still help improve her world ranking.

Currently, Noskova is ranked 17th in the world and is the top active Czech female player. Behind her are Muhova at 22nd, Krejcikova at 32nd, Vondrousova at 36th, and Pliskova at 41st.

Born in November 2004, Noskova is not yet 21 years old and has a long career ahead. With her excellent physical attributes, it is only a matter of time before this Czech rising star achieves even greater breakthroughs.

“The past two weeks have been amazing! I never expected to reach the final when I came here. It’s such a surprise! This is definitely a great tournament for my career. I want to thank every fan who came tonight and over the past two weeks. Also, playing in front of such a large crowd has been incredible and truly unforgettable.”

For Chinese players, besides Zheng Qinwen who remains in the top ten, Wang Xinyu is currently ranked 37th in the world. Wang and Zheng remain the only two Chinese women ranked inside the top 100 this week.

Yuan Yue, ranked 109th and the third-ranked Chinese female player, is followed by veteran Zhang Shuai, whose ranking improved to 142nd this week after a hard-fought victory at the China Open. Additionally, Wang Xiyu (145th), Gao Xinyu (188th), Wei Sijia (194th), and Ma Yexin (198th) are all within the top 200.(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
