WTA Jiujiang Event: Blinkova Claims Tour Title Again After Three Years

Blinkova

On November 2nd, 2025, the WTA250 Jiujiang tournament wrapped up. Blinkova overcame 17-year-old Austrian prospect Tagger 6-3, 6-3 to capture her first tour victory in three years and secure her second WTA title overall.

During the trophy ceremony, Blinkova gave a bilingual speech in Chinese and English: “Congratulations to Lily (Tagger) and her team; she’s a great player. I want to wish her good luck in her future matches. I also want to thank my team — my fitness coach here supporting me and my tennis coach in France. I’m very happy to work with them; they feel like family. I’m also grateful to my family and friends in Russia — thank you so much.”

“Thanks to the tournament staff; I really love this event and hope to return next year to defend my title. Thank you to the fans who came to cheer for me, especially my Chinese supporters. I receive warm messages every day and am very happy to win here in China. I really enjoy playing in China. I will keep learning Chinese so that next time I visit, I can chat with everyone (in Chinese). Thank you all for your support.”
