Novak Djokovic has put to rest any uncertainties about his ability to compete at the world tennis championship held in Turin next week.
Novak Djokovic will make his return at the ATP Finals 2025 — the tournament featuring the top 8 players of the year, taking place in Turin next week. This was confirmed yesterday (November 3) by Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis Federation, effectively quashing rumors about the Serbian star withdrawing from this prestigious event.
"We have confirmed that Djokovic will be present in Turin."Mr. Binaghi stated on the Rai Gr Parlamentochannel, affirming the 38-year-old player’s attendance at the ATP season finale.
Previously, Djokovic was eliminated in the semifinals of the Shanghai Masters 1000 on October 11 after losing to Valentin Vacherot, and he also chose not to participate in the Paris Masters — the final ATP 1000 event of the year concluded last Sunday (November 2). The 38-year-old will return this week in Athens for the second round of the 2025 Hellenic Championship against Alejandro Tabilo.
The ATP Finals is the tournament that built Novak Djokovic’s reputation, with seven titles won in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022, and 2023. However, his chances to claim an eighth title here are slim, as Jannik Sinner remains a formidable and dominant force on indoor hard courts.
Despite approaching his forties, Djokovic continues to show remarkable form, reaching the semifinals in all four Grand Slams and the final of the Miami Open. Additionally, he secured his 100th ATP title in Geneva, becoming only the third player in the Open Era to reach this milestone — a clear testament to the Serbian legend’s exceptional skill and endurance.
With Djokovic’s participation confirmed, only one spot remains for the ATP Finals 2025. The battle is fierce between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti, ranked 8th and 9th respectively in the Race to ATP Finals standings. Musetti must win the Hellenic Championship to secure his place in Turin next week.
