The 2025 YONEX "Zheng Jie Cup" Youth Tennis Elite Training Camp Makes Its Debut in Macau

From November 25 to November 30, as a crucial segment of the China Tennis Tour's "Aoyu Comprehensive" professional finals series, the eagerly awaited 2025 YONEX "Zheng Jie Cup" Youth Tennis Elite Training Camp took place in Macau for the first time. This Macau event represents the 24th city successfully integrated into the "Zheng Jie Cup" tournament network, initiating a fresh phase of youth tennis interaction between the Mainland and Macau.

Comprehensive Professional Training Backed by a Prestigious Coaching Team

This training camp brought together 12 champions and runners-up from the 2025 YONEX "Zheng Jie Cup" finals along with outstanding local youth players from Macau. The coaching lineup is a top-tier national team configuration, led by tennis legends Zheng Jie, Zhang Yu, Liu Feng, and Jiang Wei among other experienced coaches. Additionally, sports psychologist Bi Xiaoting, who served at the Paris Olympics, and a professional rehabilitation team joined to offer cutting-edge approaches that balance individual differences with professional standards. They provide precise, one-stop guidance covering technical refinement, tactical simulation, and mental resilience, embodying the scientific training philosophy of "identifying problems through competition and solving them through training."

The camp aims to offer players a multidimensional, professional growth experience, covering physical fitness, skills, tactics, psychology, and court intelligence to ensure scientifically effective training. High-level internal matches are also organized during the camp to facilitate practice through competition, helping players test and improve their abilities in real scenarios.

For the youth players participating, this camp is not only a chance to enhance their technical and tactical skills but also a valuable opportunity for exchange. Mainland elite players get to experience the unique playing styles and strategies of Macau youth, injecting fresh ideas into their own tactical systems; meanwhile, local Macau players gain close exposure to the nation’s top-level standards, learning from the practical experiences Mainland players have accumulated in major tournaments, accelerating their development. Such a distinguished coaching and expert team undoubtedly represents the highest recognition and reward for all players’ hard work over the past year.

Professional tennis player Wang Yafan joined the camp as a special mentor, adding significant value. Through personal demonstrations, she allowed the youth players to experience the training mindset and rhythm of a pro athlete firsthand. She also shared key shot selections under pressure, daily technical refinement details, and practical tips for quickly getting into match mode. These priceless "firsthand" professional insights, rarely available in regular training, greatly expanded the young players’ horizons.

The entire training camp was offered free of charge to all selected players, covering all accommodation, meals, and professional training costs. The organizing committee also provided a full set of YONEX professional equipment at no cost, reflecting the event’s charitable and forward-looking commitment to promoting youth tennis development.

Rooted in Macau, Looking Ahead to the Future of Tennis in the Greater Bay Area

Choosing Macau as the venue for this training camp was primarily aimed at deepening tennis exchanges between Mainland and Macau youth, mutually learning from valuable experiences and jointly advancing the development of youth tennis in Macau. The camp received broad support: the China Tennis Tour incorporated the camp into its professional-level finals series, creating a higher platform for display and exchange; locally, Macau provided professional venues such as the Macau Tennis School and offered ticket discounts to residents and students in Macau, actively fostering a positive tennis atmosphere to encourage greater public attention and support for youth tennis growth.

The event organizers expressed hope to establish the YONEX "Zheng Jie Cup" Youth Tennis Elite Training Camp and related activities as a regular fixture in Macau. The enthusiastic hosting atmosphere and the players’ dedication were highly encouraging. With the strong momentum of sports development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the solidifying tennis fan base, the "Zheng Jie Cup" plans to gradually expand into more cities within the Greater Bay Area, enabling more young players to participate and collectively nurture future talent for Chinese youth tennis.

We look forward to the tennis seeds sown by the YONEX "Zheng Jie Cup" Youth Tennis Elite Training Camp in Macau to take root and flourish alongside the excitement of the China Tennis Tour professional finals held here from December 1 to 7. May youth players from both regions continue to exchange and grow together on broader stages, making tennis a bridge connecting dreams, and jointly illuminating more brilliant stars in the wave of China’s professional tennis event development.
