100! Djokovic has triumphed again

Although it was just a first-round men's singles match at the 2026 Australian Open, the fact that Djokovic was competing attracted much fan interest. The ten-time titleholder swept Pedro Martínez with a score of 6-3, 6-2, 6-2, securing his first win of this year's tournament.

After securing this win, Djokovic’s total victories at Melbourne Park reached 100. Turning professional in 2003, Djokovic made his Australian Open main draw debut in 2005, where the young player was eliminated in the first round; he also failed to advance past the first round in 2006.

However, he quickly advanced to the fourth round in the 2007 season and then claimed his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open the following year. Among the four majors, the Australian Open is where Djokovic has won the most titles, having lifted the trophy ten times here. His last Australian Open victory was in 2023, a year in which he won three Grand Slam titles: the Australian Open, the French Open, and the US Open.

That said, the Australian Open is not the Grand Slam where Djokovic holds the most match wins. He has achieved 102 wins at Wimbledon, followed closely by 101 wins at the French Open. Djokovic has won seven titles at Wimbledon and three at the French Open so far.

Based on Djokovic’s performance this season, he is expected to add more wins at the Australian Open. Currently, only his US Open wins have not yet surpassed 100 (95 wins). According to the numbers, if Djokovic reaches the semifinals at this year’s US Open, he will have surpassed 100 wins at all four Grand Slam events.

Besides Djokovic, which other male players have reached 100 wins in a single Grand Slam tournament? Many fans will immediately think of Nadal’s remarkable record at the French Open. As the unprecedented 14-time champion there, Nadal has amassed an astounding 112 wins at Roland Garros. For Djokovic to surpass that figure, he would likely need to compete for around two more seasons.

Following Nadal’s 112 wins is Federer’s 105 victories at Wimbledon. The Swiss maestro has claimed eight Wimbledon titles and accumulated 20 Grand Slam singles trophies in his career. Besides his eight Wimbledon crowns, his other titles include six Australian Opens, five US Opens, and one French Open.

It is worth noting that Federer also achieved over 100 wins at Melbourne Park (102 wins). Do you think Djokovic has the potential to surpass Federer and even Nadal in the most Grand Slam match wins in the future? (Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
