Despite her long absence from competition, Zheng Qinwen undeniably holds the position as the leading figure in Chinese women's tennis, judging by both her current world ranking and her fame. Supported by China's huge market, her commercial appeal is very strong, clearly reflected in her sponsorships and endorsement contracts.

Starting with her early contract with Nike in 2015, Zheng Qinwen signed with Wilson in 2020, became an Ant Group Light Ambassador and Yili brand spokesperson in 2022, endorsed Pepsi and Rolex in 2023, and in 2024 was appointed global brand ambassador for Bawang Tea Princess and vivo. Last year, she also became the face of Audi, Dior’s global ambassador, Beats’ global ambassador, and Lancôme’s brand ambassador.

Just two months into 2026, Zheng Qinwen’s commercial activities have already expanded. In January, she officially became the global ambassador for Qianwen, and recently announced her role as the global brand ambassador for Turkish Airlines, which holds the Guinness World Record for flying to the most countries and has won the "Best Airline in Europe" title for a record tenth consecutive time.
It’s important to note that Zheng Qinwen is still very young, and as her personal achievements continue to improve, her commercial value will keep rising. Of course, at this stage, her priority is to perform well in her comeback tournament in Doha.

Since undergoing right elbow arthroscopy surgery last July, Zheng Qinwen has missed several major tournaments including the US Open and Australian Open. Her world ranking has dropped from a career-high of No. 4 to outside the top 25. With her name now officially on the Doha women's singles draw, her return to competition is finally underway.

Looking at the Doha singles draw, Zheng Qinwen’s luck hasn’t improved much; her first-round opponent is Grand Slam singles champion Kenin, and in the second round she faces seeded player Schneider. If she wins these two matches, she could meet the reigning Australian Open champion, Lebakina, in the third round. However, a comeback means re-entering the fierce daily tour competition, and who the opponent is matters less than playing her own best tennis.

From the personal video Zheng Qinwen shared today, her overall condition looks quite good. In the video, she reveals her mindset and training during recovery, explaining that for a long time after surgery, her elbow could not achieve a normal range of motion.
Although eager to return to the court, she had to focus on physiotherapy and rehabilitation training. “I’m about to get back to the familiar courts soon. I hope to live up to my own expectations, starting anew with passion and courage!” Best wishes to Zheng Qinwen!(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
