How talented is Alcaraz? At 22, he has only five major titles left to achieve!

The Doha event is heating up, with both Sinner and Alcaraz reaching the last eight. Alcaraz, the recent career Grand Slam winner, is maintaining strong momentum, extending his unbeaten run this season.

With seven Grand Slam titles and eight Masters titles under his belt, Alcaraz’s career record stands strong against the Big Three. His initial seven Grand Slam wins cover all four majors, matching Nadal and outpacing Federer and Djokovic.

Among the first seven Grand Slams, Federer won three on grass and four on hard courts; Djokovic claimed two on grass and five on hard courts; Nadal secured one each on hard and grass courts, and dominated with five on clay.

Looking at Alcaraz’s first eight Masters titles, they are spread across six different Masters events, matching Djokovic’s record and ahead of Federer and Nadal. Federer never won Monte Carlo, Rome, Paris, or Shanghai Masters. The first two eluded him throughout his career, which is a minor regret compared to his triple-surface wins in Madrid.

Nadal, on the other hand, never won Miami, Madrid, Cincinnati, or Paris Masters, failing to clinch titles in Miami and Paris by the end of his career. Comparing clay court Masters, Alcaraz has already achieved a clay Masters triple crown (Monte Carlo, Madrid, and Rome) that even Nadal did not accomplish during the same period.

In terms of versatility, Alcaraz is not only the youngest career Grand Slam winner but also a strong contender to become the second player after Djokovic to achieve the Golden Masters. Interestingly, with Saudi Arabia set to host a tenth Masters event, it will be increasingly difficult for Djokovic, nearing the twilight of his career, to claim this new title.

Currently, Alcaraz is not yet 23 years old and is just five titles short of completing the ultimate career achievement of winning all fifteen major tournaments: the ATP Finals, Canadian Masters, Shanghai Masters, Paris Masters, and an Olympic gold medal.

Most of these five events take place in the latter half of the year. Judging by Alcaraz’s momentum last season—when he claimed his first Cincinnati, Rome, and Monte Carlo Masters titles—he is likely to make significant progress in the remaining Masters tournaments this year.

The hardest to win is the Olympic gold, held every four years, which is rare and highly coveted. Even Djokovic, after competing in multiple Olympics, only managed to secure his dream gold medal later in his career.

So, how soon do you think Alcaraz will achieve a grand slam across all these categories in the future?(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Luo Cheng Qiye)
