On February 20th local time, the semifinal lineup for the 2026 ATP 500 Rio Open was finalized. The 8th seed Etcheverry beat Portugal’s lucky loser Faria 7-6(4)/6-4 in straight sets, marking his 100th main draw win in his professional career. This victory will also ensure that he surpasses the defending champion Baez next week, becoming Argentina’s second top male player.

Etcheverry
As the only remaining seeded player in the draw, Etcheverry will face Czech player Kopriva in the semifinals for a spot in the final. Kopriva advanced by defeating J. Cerundolo 6-4/6-4. In the top half quarterfinals, Buse, who previously eliminated Fonseca, overcame Berrettini 6-3/2-6/6-3, becoming the first Peruvian to reach the singles semifinals in an ATP 500 event. In the semis, he will play Tabillo, who narrowly escaped defeat after missing a match point in the second set but ultimately triumphed 7-6(2)/6-7(6)/6-1 against Tirante.
