Post-match summary and reflections
First of all, congratulations to Zhao Xintong, Wu Yize, Zhang Anda, and Jiang Jun for advancing to the last 16 early, and we also look forward to Zhou Yuelong winning his match to join them.
Criticism must be directed at Xiao Guodong and Chang Bingyu, both of whom lost their chances to advance after leading by a large margin but were overturned by their opponents. Xiao Guodong, having match point at 3-1, was reversed by Lisowski’s three consecutive frames and lost 3-4. Similarly, Chang Bingyu had match point at 3-2 but was overturned by two consecutive frames from his opponent, losing his chance to advance.
Zhao Xintong’s 4-2 win over Stan Moody saw him reach match point at 3-0 but then concede two frames in a row. Zhao made quite a few errors during the match, but Moody was even more unsettled by Zhao’s play, making more mistakes. Perhaps Zhao performs better when facing tough opponents.
Jiang Jun deserves praise for eliminating Selby 4-3 and today sweeping Yuan Sijun 4-0; we look forward to his continued strong performance.
Currently, Zhou Yuelong leads Kyren Wilson 3-0, and we hope Zhou secures the win.
