World's number one tennis player prepares for wedding, future husband is extremely wealthy

This could be an important mental boost for the current world number one heading into the Indian Wells 2026 championship.

The current women's world number one tennis player - Aryna Sabalenka has officially gotten engaged to Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis in a romantic moment widely shared on social media.

According to images posted on their Instagram, Frangulis proposed to Sabalenka on one knee in a setting decorated with flowers and candles. The Belarusian tennis player couldn't hide her emotion at this unexpected proposal. After Sabalenka said yes, the couple shared a sweet kiss in the romantic atmosphere.

Sabalenka later shared a video of this special moment on her personal page with a brief but meaningful caption: "You and me, forever". The post quickly attracted significant attention from fans and the international tennis community, with thousands of congratulations sent to the couple.

Notably, the four-time Grand Slam champion appeared quite casual during the proposal evening. She wore jeans and a white t-shirt instead of elaborate attire. Sabalenka later humorously shared that if she had known about this important event in advance, she would have definitely dressed more formally.

In fact, the Belarusian tennis player had previously hinted multiple times about marrying Frangulis. After winning the Brisbane International title in January, Sabalenka made the audience laugh by mentioning her boyfriend in her victory speech.

"Thank you to my boyfriend. Hopefully soon I can call you by a different name, right? I'm just putting more pressure on you like that.", Sabalenka joked during the award ceremony, leading many to believe she was subtly hinting at marriage.

Sabalenka's fiancé, Georgios Frangulis, was born in 1988 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He initially studied Law but quickly shifted to business.

Frangulis founded Oakberry, a food brand specializing in açaí berry products, in December 2016. The brand quickly gained fame with over 700 stores in more than 40 countries. The company raised $67 million in investment by the end of 2023, further solidifying its position as a leading brand in the superfood market.

The Brazilian businessman started his relationship with Sabalenka in mid-2024, just months after the sudden death of Konstantin Koltsov - the Belarusian tennis player's former boyfriend.
