On March 5 local time, the ATP/WTA 1000 Indian Wells tournament entered its second day of main draw action, featuring more first-round singles contests. In men's singles, 34-year-old Bulgarian star Grigor Dimitrov defeated French player Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, avenging his loss from eight days prior in Acapulco. He will now face two-time tournament champion Carlos Alcaraz in the second round. Their last meeting was at last year's Indian Wells, where Alcaraz emerged victorious.
