Sinner completes the set of all six hardcourt Masters titles, a record shared with Djokovic and Federer.

This morning Beijing time, Sinner defeated Medvedev in a double tie-break in the Indian Wells final, claiming the title for the first time.

This marks Sinner's first championship this season, his 25th title at tour-level or above, and also establishes several historical milestones.

Previously, Sinner had already won titles at the Rogers Cup, Miami, Cincinnati, Shanghai, and Paris—five hardcourt Masters events. With today's victory at Indian Wells, Sinner has achieved the record of winning all six hardcourt Masters tournaments.

Below is Sinner's best performance record across the nine global Masters tournaments (listed in order of annual event dates):

Indian Wells (hardcourt, champion in 2026);

Miami (hardcourt, champion in 2024);

Monte Carlo (clay, semifinalist in 2023 and 2024);

Madrid (clay, quarterfinalist in 2024);

Rome (clay, runner-up in 2025);

Canada Rogers Cup (hardcourt, champion in 2023);

Cincinnati (hardcourt, champion in 2024);

Shanghai (hardcourt, champion in 2024);

Paris (indoor hardcourt, champion in 2025).

Since the ATP established the nine Masters tournaments in 1990, the 24-year-old Sinner has become the youngest player to win all six hardcourt Masters titles. The only other players to achieve this feat are Djokovic and Federer, both accomplishing it after turning 30—Federer first won his sixth hardcourt Masters title in Shanghai in 2014 at age 33; Djokovic completed his sixth hardcourt Masters title in Cincinnati in 2018 at age 31.

Looking further back, Agassi—who appeared at Sinner's final this morning—also won all the hardcourt Masters titles (at that time there were only five 1000-level hardcourt Masters: Indian Wells, Miami, Rogers Cup, Cincinnati, and Madrid). He achieved this milestone at age 32.

Interestingly, if Medvedev had won today, he would have replaced Sinner as the youngest player to complete the set of all six hardcourt Masters titles—he just turned 30 last month. By defeating Medvedev in the final, Sinner lowered the age for achieving this record by six years.

After today's victory, Sinner also reached the milestone of 100 career Masters match wins, making him the first player born after 2000 to accomplish this.

Below is the ranking of Masters match wins for players born after 2000:

100 wins: Sinner (born 2001);

88 wins: Alcaraz (born 2003);

64 wins: Aliassime (born 2000);

55 wins: Rune (born 2003);

47 wins: Musetti (born 2002).

During the championship ceremony, Sinner said: "First, it's great to see Daniel back at this level, we are very happy. I came here, we worked very hard from day one, and having this result makes me very, very happy. I'm fortunate to share this moment with my team and friends. It's a very special moment."

Speaking about the match process, Sinner commented: "I stayed confident and tried to focus on the match. If it went to a third set, we would start over, so I felt I had to try to finish it in two sets. I'm happy, this ending is truly unbelievable."Source: Tennis Home, Author: Yun Juan Yun Shu
