Rafael Jodar has a playing style quite similar to Jannik Sinner.

Not accepting defeat, Fonseca surged strongly in the second set by quickly securing a break and effectively controlling rallies from the back of the court. The Brazilian player efficiently utilized his powerful forehand shots to bring the match back to equilibrium with a 6-4 win.

Nevertheless, in the decisive set, Jodar demonstrated superior composure. The home player secured a break in the very first game, then continuously increased pressure to lead 5-0. Meanwhile, Fonseca appeared to lose his calm and even smashed his racket after a mishit. Jodar maintained steady form to close out the match with a convincing 6-1 victory.

"I am very satisfied with my performance. Matches like this are always decided by small details, and I think I handled that well.", Jodar shared after the match.
