ATP San Diego: Jerre beats defending champion Báez to break a five-year title drought

Serbia's Jerre defeated defending champion and third seed Báez 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to claim his first Tour title since Sardinia 2020 and claim his third career Tour title. Ranked No. 103 in the world ahead of the tournament in San Diego, Jerre's World Ranking rose to No.74 this week after beating three seeded players, Martinez, Cerundolo and Báez, to become the first ATP Tour singles champion outside the top 100 this season.
