WTA Mérida: Navarro sends "double eggs" to win the 500 tournament for the first time


Top seed Navarro won the Women's Singles final with just 55 minutes to win the Women's Singles final with a 6-0, 6-0 win from Colombian dark horse Arango, who won the tournament without dropping a set, her second career WTA Tour title (Hobart 2024) and the highest-level title to date.


Navarro won the 500 for the first time


Navarro became the first player to send a double egg in a WTA final since Swiatek defeated Karolina Pliskova in Rome in 2021. The other three WTA finals of the century were Quebec in 2006 (Bartoli beating Pchikova), Sydney in 2013 (A. Radwanska beating Cibulkova) and Bucharest 2016 (Halep beating Sevastova).

In the Women's Doubles final, Pittel/Sherif defeated top seeds Danilina/Kromacheva 7-6(2), 7-5.
