Shang Juncheng data map

On March 2, local time, Shang Juncheng, a Chinese teenager who is currently ranked 55th in the world, withdrew from the ATP1000 Indian Wells Masters due to physical reasons.

Shang is 3-2 so far in the 2025 season and has not played since this year's Australian Open. He reached the semi-finals of the men's singles at the ATP 250 Hong Kong in his first tournament of the season, facing Japan's Kei Nishikori before retiring from the first set at 3-4 due to physical discomfort. In the Australian Open, when the Chinese teenager fell behind Davidovic 6-7(1)/2-5, he retired due to a foot injury and stopped in the first round.

Shang Juncheng has previously competed in three Indian Wells Masters. In 2022, he broke through from the qualifying round and ushered in the first main tournament of the Masters in his career. In 2023, he lost to compatriot Zhang Zhizhen in the decisive round of the qualifying round and missed the main event. In 2024, he broke through from the qualifying round again and won the first victory of the main draw of the Masters, and finally stopped in the second round.

I wish the small business a speedy recovery and return to the competition!
