The first Asian clay pavilion was officially opened, and Agassi and Graf landed in Huzhou!

On March 30, the opening ceremony of Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center was held in Wuxing District, Huzhou City. Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center is located in Xihuyang Block, Balidian Town, Wuxing District, with a total construction area of more than 50,000 square meters, which is currently the largest and highest clay tennis center in Asia. There are a total of 18 international standard tennis courts, of which 14 are clay courts built according to the standards of Roland Garros of France, and the remaining 4 are hard courts. This "world-class, Asia's first, and China's only" clay tennis center will help Huzhou City build a "famous clay tennis city in China".



At the event site, Chen Hao, Secretary of the Huzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Bai Xilin, Director of the Tennis Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports, delivered speeches respectively, Chen Hao welcomed the arrival of the leaders and guests, and Bai Xilin, on behalf of the Tennis Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports and the Chinese Tennis Association, congratulated the official opening of the Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center. The relevant heads of the French Tennis Association, the Madrid Tennis Federation of Spain, tennis players such as Buyun Chaokert and Wu Yixuan, as well as Jin Dong, the former image ambassador of the French Open in China, sent congratulatory videos.




Tennis legends and "Golden Slam" couple Agassi and Graf were on hand to help, and they were appointed as permanent honorary members of the Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center, which became the highlight of the event. Agassi and Graf said: "This [Huzhou International Clay Tennis Centre] is definitely an impressive court from a global perspective, and we were really beautiful when we walked around the stadium and facilities. I hope that more people will be able to enjoy it, especially the younger generation of players will have the opportunity to play on clay, which is the traditional course in Europe, so I hope that there will be a lot of Chinese players who will have the opportunity to enjoy it. ”



Graf is one of the most successful women's players of the Open era, winning 107 singles tournaments in her career, including 22 Grand Slam titles (7 Wimbledon, 6 French Open, 5 US Open, 4 Australian Open) and 5 WTA Finals (1987, 1989, 1993, 1995 and 1996). The world number one has been ranked for a total of 377 weeks, including 186 consecutive weeks in the world number one, the longest record since the establishment of the WTA. In 1988, Graf won the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open and Seoul Olympic Women's Singles titles, becoming the only Golden Slam player in history. Agassi won 60 singles titles on tour during his career, including eight Grand Slam titles (four Australian Open, one French Open, one Wimbledon and two US Open) and one ATP Finals (1990). In 1996, Agassi won the men's singles gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics held on American soil, becoming the first golden slam player in the history of men's tennis. From the end of the last century to the beginning of this century, Agassi swept the tennis world with his excellent skills, handsome appearance and distinctive personality, and played an important role in promoting the commercial development of tennis.


Agassi and Graff met and fell in love in 1999, and the two had a secret wedding in Las Vegas after two years of long-distance love. After their marriage, Graff, who has now retired, became Agassi's strongest support in the ring, and together they had a son and a daughter, and actively engaged in philanthropic causes.





At the opening ceremony, the Tennis Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China, the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau and the Huzhou Municipal People's Government signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement, which will carry out in-depth cooperation in the construction of youth tennis training bases, the organization of international professional events, and the cultivation of tennis talents. Wuxing District signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Tier1-IBG International Tennis Academy of the United States, marking the official landing of the world's top tennis academy in Wuxing, Huzhou. A number of well-known sports brands have signed contracts with China Construction Huaxia (Beijing) Industrial Operation and Management Co., Ltd., and will be deeply involved in the operation of Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center in the future.



After the ceremony, Agassi, Graf and Huzhou junior tennis enthusiasts presented a wonderful exhibition match to the audience. On April 21st, the Huzhou Station CTA1000 of the China Tennis Tour will be the first event of the Huzhou International Clay Tennis Center.
