After losing to Blonzetti in Madrid in the first round at WTA1000 Madrid, Naomi Osaka entered the WTA125K San Malo last week as a wild card, a choice that earned her her first title in more than four years, with her last title coming at the 2021 Australian Open.
Naomi Osaka entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed, beating Marchenko, Parry, Jacquemot, Jean and Youwan in quick succession. In fact, this wasn't Naomi Osaka's first WTA125K final, as she reached the title race in Hua Hin in 2015 when she lost to Chefdova to finish runner-up.
Naomi Osaka has not been able to regain her peak form since her comeback at the start of the 2024 season, and with this title, she will now move up to No.48 in the world rankings, just two points behind the current No.47 Japanese sister Moe Natsu Uchijima.
