ATP Rome Masters: Alcaraz Lick Draper, meets Musetti in the semi-finals

On May 14, local time, the ATP1000 Rome Masters ended two men's singles quarterfinals, and the No. 3 seed Alcaraz defeated the No. 5 seed Draper 6-4/6-4 to enter the semifinals of the Rome Masters for the first time and the semifinals of the Masters for the 11th time. The Spaniard's world ranking will surpass Zverev next week to move up to No.2, meaning he has secured his spot as the No. 2 seed in men's singles at this year's French Open.

Alcaraz will face homegrown favourite and eighth seed Musetti in the semi-finals, who saved four set points in the first set to beat defending champion Zverev 7-6(1), 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Rome Masters for the first time and reach the semi-finals of the third consecutive clay Masters. The pair have met five times before, with Alcaraz winning 4-1, most recently in this year's final of the Monte Carlo Masters, where he came back from a set-down deficit.

In a men's singles fourth-round match delayed by rain, sixth seed Ruud defeated Munar 6-3, 6-4 to make it nine straight wins to secure his final quarter-final spot, where he will face world No. 1 Sinner in the quarter-finals.
