In the early hours of Beijing time last night, the ATP tour continued this week. At the WTA 500 Washington women's doubles event, the second seeds Zhang Shuai/Townsend advanced to the final after their opponents Raducanu/Leibakina chose to retire while trailing 4-1 in the first set.

Zhang Shuai/Townsend

With Zhang Shuai/Townsend reaching the final, Townsend is also set to surpass Siniakova in the latest WTA world rankings released next week, becoming the first mother to achieve the No. 1 spot in women's doubles. In the final, Zhang Shuai/Townsend will compete against the local duo Kenin/Dolehide, who defeated the top seeds Lute and Muhammad in the semifinals with a score of 7-6(4)/6-4. The final will start no earlier than 4:00 AM Beijing time tomorrow.

Raducanu

The WTA 500 Washington event has determined the final four in women's singles. Former US Open champion Raducanu triumphed over Sakari with a score of 6-4/7-5, marking her first entry into the semifinals at this event, where she will face Kalinskaya for a spot in the final. Kalinskaya eliminated the fourth seed Townsend with a score of 6-3/7-5. The third seed Leibakina easily defeated the fifth seed Frech with a score of 6-3/6-3 and will face former US Open runner-up Fernandez, who won against qualifier Townsend with a score of 6-4/7-6(4).
