ATP Toronto Masters: Fritz defeats Diallo, will face Lehecka

On August 1, 2025, the ATP Toronto Masters finalized the men's singles round of 16 last night and this morning. Second seed Fritz triumphed over local favorite and 27th seed Diallo with a score of 6-4/6-2, and will compete for a spot in the quarterfinals against 19th seed Lehecka, who came back to win against the Frenchman Fils with a score of 3-6/6-3/6-4. Fourth seed Shelton endured a tough three-set match, winning against Nakashima Brandon in an "American Derby" with scores of 6-7(8)/6-2/7-6(5), and will face 13th seed Cobolli next, who eliminated Marlosan with a score of 6-2/4-6/6-3.

Sixth seed Rublev fought through three sets to come back and defeat 28th seed Sonego with scores of 5-7/6-4/6-3, and will face 20th seed Davidovich Fokina, who won against 12th seed Monfils with a score of 6-2/6-4. Seventh seed Tiafoe overcame Vukic with a score of 6-3/4-6/6-3 and will face 9th seed De Minaur, who advanced due to a withdrawal.
