Naomi Osaka was woken up at 4 AM, expressing her frustration, as she switched to Iga's former coach and hopes for a revival.

Recently, Naomi Osaka, who is participating in the Montreal tournament, has faced multiple disturbances due to false fire alarms at her hotel, and this time, Elena Rybakina was also "affected" alongside her. This incident occurred just before her match against Anastasija Sevastova in the round of 16 at the Canadian Open, leaving the Japanese star quite annoyed.

A few nights ago, Naomi Osaka also experienced a similar situation—she was forced to evacuate due to a hotel fire alarm before her second-round match, and she shared the situation on her Instagram story.

“I have no idea what's wrong with this hotel, another false fire alarm, it's ridiculous,” Osaka wrote at 4:40 AM, her tone filled with helplessness. She later posted another story where the piercing noise of the alarm could be heard in the background, while Osaka laughed and joked about the farce.

Another participant in this "adventure" was Rybakina. Although she did not publicly share details on social media, her physiotherapist, Stefan Djur, posted a video on Instagram, clearly capturing the sound of the fire alarm.

The incident occurred at 4:55 AM local time, at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel. However, it is still unclear whether the two players were staying at the same hotel.

Before the Canadian Open, Rybakina parted ways with her coach, Mouratoglou, ending their collaboration of less than a year. On social media platform X, Osaka wrote: “Learning from you has been a wonderful experience. Wishing you all the best. You are one of the coolest people I’ve ever met, and I believe we will meet again.”

During her time with Mouratoglou, Osaka did not perform at the high level she expected. The four-time Grand Slam champion recently reached the round of 32 at the Washington Open, where she was eliminated by Emma Raducanu.

Notably, since winning the Australian Open in 2021, Osaka has not secured any WTA Tour titles. However, the 27-year-old player has recently shown signs of a resurgence—she reached the final of the Auckland Open in January 2025.

Fortunately, Osaka is currently working with former world No. 1 Swiatek's ex-coach, Viktorovskyi. Viktorovskyi gained fame coaching Polish star Radwanska from 2011 to 2018. He also played a significant role in Swiatek's rise, with their collaboration starting in 2021 and continuing until 2024.

The agent of this four-time Grand Slam champion confirmed on July 28 that Viktorovskyi has joined her coaching team. However, Rybakina has yet to publicly confirm this news, suggesting that the two may still be in a trial phase.

Rybakina's split from Mouratoglou also had emotional undertones, as they shared a close relationship. Considering her recent performance, including being eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon this year, this decision seems understandable.(Source: Tennis Home Author: Huohua)
