The Masters now follows the Fritz Law, as this year has seen the emergence of four new champions!

The Cincinnati Masters is currently very competitive, with Alcaraz and Sinner both participating actively to warm up for the US Open. This is one of the rare Masters events they both attended this year.

This year, six Masters tournaments have concluded, and aside from Alcaraz winning two titles, the other four have seen the emergence of new champions. Due to various reasons, these four Masters tournaments produced new champions without Sinner or Alcaraz competing simultaneously.

Indian Wells: Draper defeated Fritz in the fourth round, ultimately winning his first Masters title (Alcaraz participated, Sinner was absent).

After winning the Australian Open, Sinner was suspended due to a doping incident, leaving only the two-time defending champion Alcaraz to compete. When facing the rising British star Draper, who shone brightly since the end of last year, Alcaraz failed to perform at his best and was ultimately defeated. The British player unlocked his first tournament title after reaching the semifinals at last year's US Open. Before defeating Alcaraz, Draper first overcame the previous champion and local favorite, Fritz.

Miami: Mensik defeated Fritz in the semifinals, ultimately winning his first Masters title (Alcaraz participated, Sinner was absent).

Continuing to miss Miami cost defending champion Sinner significant ranking points. The Czech rising star seized the opportunity, defeating Fritz in the semifinals and then overcoming his idol Djokovic in the final, marking his first career title as a Masters champion, making Mensik a formidable dark horse.

Madrid: Ruud defeated Fritz in the fourth round, ultimately winning his first Masters title (both Alcaraz and Sinner were absent).

After winning the Monte Carlo Masters title for the first time, two-time champion Alcaraz missed the Madrid Masters. Ruud, known for his strength on clay, finally broke through his title drought, having defeated Fritz along the way to victory.

Toronto: Shelton defeated Fritz in the semifinals, ultimately winning his first Masters title (both Alcaraz and Sinner were absent).

After reaching consecutive finals at the French Open and Wimbledon, Sinner and Alcaraz strategically opted out of the Canadian Masters following Wimbledon. In this tournament, which has recently seen the emergence of new champions, Shelton, who is expected to rival the star duo, ultimately triumphed, defeating compatriot Fritz in the semifinals before claiming the title in the final.

The last time both Sinner and Alcaraz participated in the same tournament, the title went to someone else was at the 2024 Madrid Masters, where Rublev defeated Alcaraz while Sinner withdrew. Since then, both have strategically participated in the Rome and Canadian Masters, with Sinner winning back-to-back titles at the Cincinnati and Shanghai Masters.(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Luo Cheng Qiye)
