Swiatek has only missed the finals in Wuhan and Canada, proving her dominance at the 1000-level tournaments!

In Cincinnati 2025, the women’s doubles title has been decided. Guo Hanyu, making her debut in a WTA 1000 doubles final with partner Panova, was defeated 4-6, 3-6 by the tournament’s second seeds Dabrowski/Routliffe. This run earned them 650 points and $139,120 in prize money, and Guo’s live doubles ranking now stands at 20th, with her Race ranking soaring to 10th.

It’s worth noting that even though Guo Hanyu didn’t win the title, her impressive performance here, together with her partner, allowed them to surpass the pairs Danilina/Krunic and Babos/Stefani. They are now expected to be seeded in the top eight for the women’s doubles at this year’s US Open. So far this season, Guo and Panova have reached three finals, capturing two titles and one runner-up finish.

The men’s doubles trophy went to McTigue and Ram, who overcame the unseeded duo Musetti/Sonego in the final. Among the highly anticipated singles finals, the men’s singles match kicked off first: [1] Sinner vs. [2] Alcaraz.

Sinner, who just celebrated his 24th birthday in Cincinnati, has also extended his hard-court winning streak to 26 matches across seasons. He is the first player born after 2000 to reach 200 hard-court victories. The Italian will face Alcaraz for the 15th time; in their previous 14 meetings, Alcaraz leads 9-5 (and holds a 5-2 edge on hard courts).

The women’s singles final features Swiatek and Paolini. As the second player this year to secure a spot in the WTA Finals, Swiatek has maintained her excellent form in Cincinnati, reaching her 13th career WTA 1000 singles final—and her first ever in Cincinnati.

Looking at Swiatek’s achievements so far, aside from her Grand Slam successes, focusing solely on WTA 1000 events: there are ten such tournaments—Doha, Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Rome, Montreal/Toronto, Cincinnati, Beijing, and Wuhan. Swiatek has only failed to reach the final in Canada and Wuhan.

Swiatek’s best result in Canada (Montreal/Toronto) is a semifinal finish, and she hasn’t played in Wuhan yet. Of the other eight WTA 1000 tournaments, Dubai is the only one where she hasn’t won the title (her best there is runner-up). Her best results at the remaining events include:

Doha—2 titles

Indian Wells—2 titles

Miami—1 title

Madrid—1 title

Rome—3 titles

Beijing—1 title

With a remarkable record of 10 titles and 2 runner-up finishes at this level, do you think she can lift the Cincinnati trophy this year?(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
