Outside hitter Rivan Nurmulki is set to represent Thể Công Tân Cảng during the second stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Indonesian outside hitter Rivan Nurmulki has officially signed with Thể Công Tân Cảng to play in the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship. He is the only Southeast Asian foreign player participating this year, promising to add excitement to the championship race.
Standing 2 meters tall with an attacking reach up to 3.5 meters, Rivan is considered one of the top outside hitters in the region. He has represented Indonesia’s national team for many years, winning three consecutive SEA Games gold medals (2019, 2022, 2023) and competing in the SEA V.League 2025. With his extensive international experience, Rivan is expected to boost Thể Công Tân Cảng’s offensive power in the decisive stage.
On September 23rd, the Indonesian spiker arrived in Da Nang to train with the team before heading to Ninh Bình for phase two. The coaching staff did not disclose contract details but confirmed this is a strategic addition to enhance the team’s competitiveness.
In phase one, Thể Công Tân Cảng registered two Cuban foreign players but only achieved average results with 3 wins and 2 losses, temporarily ranking third in the men’s category. Rivan’s arrival is expected to improve the team’s gameplay, especially in crucial upcoming matches against Hà Nội and Sanest Khánh Hòa.
The military team has a rich tradition, last reaching the national finals in 2021 but finishing as runners-up after losing to LPB Ninh Bình. Last year, they secured third place. Therefore, this year’s goal is to return to the finals and even aim for the championship.
