American foreign player Roni Jones-Perry is set to unite with VTV Bình Điền Long An Club in the second stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
According to the plan, the American outside hitter Roni Jones-Perry will join the team early next week and travel to Ninh Bình on October 1st to prepare for the crucial matches.
The club’s management has not disclosed the transfer fee for Jones-Perry, but experts believe the cost is substantial, as the 1997-born player has years of experience competing in the NCAA (US college sports) and professional volleyball leagues in Europe.
This addition is expected to significantly strengthen the VTV Bình Điền Long An lineup ahead of the intense competition in the upcoming round.
Before entering phase 2, VTV Bình Điền Long An recently participated in the 2025 SEALECT Cup in Thailand, finishing in 5th place. This was considered a warm-up for the players to gain more experience and test the team lineup.
Currently, the team’s key players are still training in Long An under the guidance of new head coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa. The former captain of the Vietnamese national team has officially retired from playing to fully focus on coaching, marking a significant change in the reigning champion’s roster.
Another major change is the absence of the top outside hitter Trần Thị Thanh Thúy, who is playing for PFU BlueCats in Japan’s V.League. Meanwhile, core players such as Võ Thị Kim Thoa, Nguyễn Thị Trà My, and Nguyễn Khánh Đang are sure to participate.
