The 2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship (FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship) marks the 21st edition of the event. Held from September 12 to 28, 2025, in the two major Philippine cities of Manila and Quezon City, it gathers 32 of the world’s top men’s teams, expanding for the first time to a biennial schedule in odd-numbered years. This edition introduces a new format: a group stage consisting of 8 pools, followed by a fierce knockout phase, ensuring greater fairness and universality.
The Philippines proudly becomes the first Southeast Asian nation to host the event, and the second Asian country after Japan. The main venues are Mall of Asia Arena and Philippine Arena – familiar sites for domestic competitions like the Premier Volleyball League. This is also the Philippines’ second Olympic team sport world championship after athletics. The bidding process started in August 2023, with over 30 countries interested, but the Philippines surpassed Indonesia and Japan to be chosen by FIVB in March 2024.
Italy, the reigning champion with 4 titles (most recently in 2022), is the top favorite. They are ranked second in the world following VNL 2025.
The tournament is not only a test of physical endurance but also showcases Filipino culture: the slogan "Set Na Natin 'To," the official song "Electrify" by Karencitta, and playful mascots like "Koolog," "Hataw," and "Kid Lat." Honorary ambassadors include Alyssa Valdez, Eya Laure, and Bryan Bagunas. Broadcast rights are held by Polsat until 2032.
