Trần Tú Linh’s absence represents a major setback for Hóa chất Đức Giang Lào Cai at this critical stage of the season.
Outside hitter Trần Tú Linh is expected to miss the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship with Hóa chất Đức Giang due to incomplete recovery from surgery. This is disappointing news for coach Huyền’s team as they enter a fierce championship battle.
Tú Linh, once a familiar face on the national team, played in the early part of the season but then suffered a serious injury that required surgery for full treatment.
Her forced break from competition caused her to miss the national women's team’s early-year training camp and she is almost certainly unable to attend the upcoming training session as well.
Losing Tú Linh is a major blow for Hóa chất Đức Giang because the 1999-born attacker is one of their main offensive weapons. In phase 1, besides Tú Linh, the club’s roster included well-known players such as Hoàng Thị Hồng Ngát, Lý Thị Luyến, Trần Thị Bích Thủy, Nguyễn Trần Thu Thủy, and Kenyan foreign player Sharon Chepchumba. However, Sharon Chepchumba will not return to Vietnam for phase 2, forcing the coaching staff to find a replacement.
To fill the gap, head coach Nguyễn Hữu Hà decided to recruit Kuttika Kaewpin – an experienced outside hitter from Thailand. With this addition, Hóa chất Đức Giang becomes the only women’s team to register two foreign players for the round held in Ninh Bình. This move aims to maintain the team’s attacking strength ahead of the important phase of the tournament.
The absence of both Tú Linh and Sharon Chepchumba definitely poses a significant challenge to Hóa chất Đức Giang’s championship ambitions. However, Kuttika’s arrival combined with the consistent performance of key domestic players may help the team remain a top contender.
The second phase of the 2025 National Championship promises to be more intense as teams significantly strengthen their squads.
