Northeast Information confirms its class but a major surprise occurred in phase 2 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship
On the afternoon of October 9, phase 2 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship continued with 4 matches in both men's and women's categories. While Northeast Information kept confirming their class, a major upset occurred.
Thanh Hoa unexpectedly defeats Vietinbank
In the women's division, the match between Industry and Trade Bank and Thanh Hoa attracted attention. Although the points were no longer crucial, both teams played with dedication. Industry and Trade Bank, coached by Nguyen Tuan Kiet, was rated slightly better, but the actual match was quite the opposite.
The Thanh Hoa women's team, under the leadership of coach Bui Huy Son, started confidently, deploying a clear strategy and diverse attacks.
Thanh Hoa surprisingly defeated Vietinbank 3-0
The Thanh Hoa girls controlled the game and won overwhelmingly 3-0 (25/18, 26/24, 25/21). This was an honorable victory for Thanh Hoa, ending the group stage with pride despite having to enter the relegation playoff series.
For Industry and Trade Bank, this loss did not affect their pre-tournament goal of reaching the top 4. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s team finished the group stage in 4th place and will wait for their semifinal opponent.
Northeast Information Battalion 19 easily beats Geleximco Hung Yen 3-0
The other women's match saw a battle between Geleximco Hung Yen and Northeast Information Battalion 19. Although Hung Yen started well and at times made their opponents cautious, the difference in class and composure soon became evident. Northeast Information Battalion 19 won 3-0 (25/21, 25/17, 28/26) despite Hung Yen’s efforts to rally.
