Outside hitter Tran Thi Thanh Thuy received unexpected acclaim from Volleyball World Asia for her outstanding form in the Japanese National Championship.
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy continues to demonstrate the caliber of Vietnam’s top volleyball star by making a strong impression playing for the Japanese club Gunma Green Wings. After just the first two rounds of the 2025 SV.League season, her excellent performance has been highly praised by the international site Volleyball World Asia.
According to statistics, Thanh Thuy was the top scorer for Gunma Green Wings in the opening two matches, tallying a total of 37 points, including 35 attack points, 1 block point, and 1 direct service ace. She played a crucial role in helping her new team secure a victory over Queenseis Kariya and narrowly lose in the rematch.
Volleyball World Asia showered praise on the Vietnamese star: “Returning from a historic journey at the World Championship, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy – also known as 4T – made an impressive debut with Gunma Green Wings. She scored 17 points in the first match and 20 points in the second. Truly a strong start to her new chapter in Japan.”
Besides her skills, Thanh Thuy was also selected by the coaching staff to give the post-match interview, an honor usually reserved for the team captain or the best player of the match.
Gunma Green Wings is the seventh foreign club in Thanh Thuy’s career. Since 2015, she has played for Bangkok Glass (Thailand), Attack Line VC (Taiwan), Denso Airybees and PFU BlueCats (Japan), Kuzeyboru (Turkey), and Gresik (Indonesia). Each time she went abroad, the outside hitter from Binh Duong left a strong mark thanks to her versatile attacking skills and resilient fighting spirit.
