Coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa makes history in Vietnamese volleyball

Coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa of VTV Bình Điền Long An has achieved a landmark never before seen in the history of Vietnamese volleyball.

Vietnamese volleyball legend Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa has just made history by leading VTV Bình Điền Long An to successfully defend their 2025 National Volleyball Championship title in her very first season as head coach.

From a legendary player on the court to a talented leader on the sidelines, Ngọc Hoa’s journey is a testament to the resilience, perseverance, and intelligence of one of the finest athletes ever produced by Vietnamese volleyball.

Under her guidance, VTV Bình Điền Long An maintained a cohesive playing style, fierce fighting spirit, and composure in critical moments to overcome numerous strong opponents, continuing their dominance in Vietnamese women's volleyball.

While Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa was once the soul behind VTV Bình Điền Long An’s five championship titles as a player, she has now played a crucial role in securing the team’s sixth championship, but in a more challenging new role. This success not only continues the legacy of the Mekong Delta team but also marks a significant transformation in the career of this former “volleyball beauty.”

With this achievement, Ngọc Hoa has entered Vietnamese volleyball history as the first woman to win the national championship both as a player and as a head coach. This rare accomplishment highlights her professional excellence and impressive leadership skills.

After the thrilling final, the former middle blocker shared: "The emotions between the two consecutive championships are very different. Last year I played as a player, this year as a coach, so the feelings are even more overwhelming."
