The spiker Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is currently playing in Japan.
Outside hitter Trần Thị Thanh Thúy will return to Vietnam on December 2 to join the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, then train before heading to Thailand for SEA Games 33.
At present, Thanh Thúy plays for Gunma Green Wings in Japan. The Japanese Volleyball Championship continues through December. However, Gunma Green Wings has allowed Thanh Thúy to fulfill her national duty at SEA Games 33.
Besides Thanh Thúy, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also includes middle blocker Trần Thị Bích Thủy, who is also playing in Japan. She wears the Okayama Seagulls jersey and is expected to return home in early December alongside Thanh Thúy.
The indoor volleyball competition at SEA Games 33 will feature women's matches from December 10 to 15 in Bangkok, Thailand. The volleyball arena for this edition previously hosted the 2025 World Championship.
Thanh Thúy and Bích Thủy have competed with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the 2025 AVC Nations Cup, 2025 VTV Cup, 2025 SEA V.League, and the 2025 World Championship.
Afterwards, Thanh Thúy went to play in Japan while Bích Thủy participated in the second phase of the 2025 National Championship. This year, Thanh Thúy’s home club, VTV Bình Điền Long An, facilitated her continued play in Japan.
