Outside hitter Đặng Thị Hồng is currently participating with the Thái Nguyên women's volleyball team at the final round of the 2025 National A-Class Championship in Hà Tĩnh.
Once a prominent figure in Vietnamese youth volleyball, Đặng Thị Hồng has now returned to her home team Thái Nguyên, not as a player but as a technical assistant coach during the 2025 National A-Class Volleyball Championship finals.
According to the regulations of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, Đặng Thị Hồng is prohibited from competing in professional tournaments due to a penalty related to the recent U21 World Championship. Nevertheless, the 2006-born outside hitter continues to support Thái Nguyên Club in her new role, helping with technical assistance for the coaching staff.
During training sessions, Đặng Thị Hồng is responsible for providing technical guidance, observing, and assisting teammates with warm-ups, tactics, and pre-match preparations. Her presence brings a positive atmosphere to the team and boosts the confidence of the young players as they enter this important competition.
Previously, Đặng Thị Hồng played for VietinBank Club during the first phase of the 2025 National Championship. After receiving the penalty, she returned to her original club to continue pursuing a potential transition into coaching.
Besides volleyball, the 19-year-old hitter also runs an online business to supplement her income and support her living expenses. Taking on the assistant role is seen as a temporary shift, allowing her to stay connected to the sport she loves while awaiting a new decision from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
