Following an impressive win against PFU BlueCats in the first leg, Gunma Green Wings maintained their consistent form in the rematch at SV.League 2025-2026, despite a thrilling five-set battle.
Entering the match with confidence, Gunma Green Wings faced a rough start. Thanh Thúy’s team struggled with first-ball receptions and allowed the opponents to exploit attacks from the wings, losing the first set 21-25.
However, in the second set, the Gunma side quickly regained control. The trio of Thanh Thúy, Rozanski, and Niida coordinated effectively, scoring repeatedly with powerful finishes. Despite PFU’s efforts to catch up, Gunma preserved their advantage to level the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 score.
The third set saw a reversal when Gunma’s blocking and defense showed weaknesses, allowing PFU to capitalize easily. The visitors exploited fast counterattacks perfectly and won 25-16, taking a 2-1 lead.
Refusing to accept defeat, Gunma Green Wings fought back fiercely in the fourth set. Thanh Thúy demonstrated the composure of a top opposite hitter, scoring crucial points from the left side. Along with the explosive performance of foreign player Rozanski, the home team won 25-19, pushing the match into a decisive fifth set.
The final set was a nail-biting chase with both teams exchanging points closely. At the critical moment, Rozanski shone with two powerful spikes, helping Gunma pull ahead and close the set 15-12, sealing an emotional 3-2 overall victory.
This marks Gunma Green Wings’ second consecutive win over PFU BlueCats this season, boosting the team’s morale after a challenging start to the campaign.
