Fitness expert Karl Lim is scheduled to come back to Vietnam at the beginning of November, continuing his collaboration with the national women's volleyball team as they prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
Karl Lim, the fitness specialist, will be back in Vietnam early November to keep working alongside the national women's volleyball team in their buildup to the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
Karl Lim is an Australian fitness expert who worked effectively with the team earlier this year. He was assigned by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) to provide professional support under a six-month cooperation program aimed at enhancing the Vietnamese team's fitness and recovery capabilities ahead of major competitions.
During his previous tenure, the Australian fitness expert accompanied the team at several international tournaments, including the AVC Nations Cup 2025, VTV Cup 2025, Shanghai Future Stars 2025, and SEA V.League 2025.
The training programs focus on improving endurance, explosiveness, and resilience during matches—areas previously considered weaknesses for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. Head coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt and the coaching staff assessed that Karl Lim's presence has significantly improved the players' physical condition, enabling them to perform more energetically in extended matches.
Entering the second training phase in Quảng Ninh, the team continues to maintain a scientific training regimen with Karl Lim's support. The coaching staff currently includes head coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt and assistants Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa, Nguyễn Trọng Linh, and Nguyễn Ngọc Dũng.
This training camp will last until mid-December before the entire team departs for Thailand to compete in the 33rd SEA Games. The team's goal is to defend their silver medal from SEA Games 32 and aim to narrow the gap with the Thai team.
