One of the most thrilling games at the 2025 National A Volleyball Championship finals ended with the soldiers' team taking the win.
The youth team of Thong Tin - Dong Bac impressively defeated the youth squad of VTV Binh Dien Long An 3-0 (25-16; 25-13; 25-21) in the group stage match held in Ha Tinh on October 27, 2025.
This result was not very surprising since VTV Binh Dien Long An’s youth team lacked the same quality, especially as young stars currently playing on the first team such as Nguyen Lan Vy, Le Nhu Anh, and Trinh Huynh Bao Ngoc were absent from the roster for this year's National A Championship finals.
Meanwhile, at the youth level, Thong Tin - Dong Bac is unrivaled in 2025 with a record-breaking triple crown. The youth squad of the military team boasts highly promising players with good physical attributes who are expected to progress far in the future if guided properly.
With star player Pham Quynh Huong leading the lineup along with other quality talents like Dinh Ngoc Van Anh and Phan Kim Chi, the youth team of Thong Tin - Dong Bac easily controlled the game from the very first points, securing dominant wins in the first and second sets.
The third set was more competitive with fierce determination from the youth of VTV Binh Dien Long An, but the efforts of coach Trinh Nguyen Hoang Huy’s team were not enough to create an upset.
Unlike other clubs such as Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, or Hanoi — contenders for promotion to the 2026 National Volleyball League — the youth teams of VTV Binh Dien Long An and Thong Tin - Dong Bac participate in the National A Championship primarily for experience, helping young players gain valuable match practice. Games like these allow teenage athletes to learn many lessons and continuously improve themselves to earn spots on the first team and potentially be called up to the national team.
Despite losing all group stage matches, the youth team of VTV Binh Dien Long An still has another match ahead. The group stage of the National A Championship finals only determines rankings to set up quarterfinal pairings, where knockout matches begin to decide the champion.
