Outside hitter Trần Thị Bích Thủy has been in Japan since November 4th, starting her competition with the Okayama SeaGulls club in the framework of the 2025 Japan V.League volleyball championship.
Outside hitter Trần Thị Bích Thủy arrived in Japan on November 4th and started her career with the Okayama SeaGulls club in the 2025 Japan V.League volleyball tournament. Upon arrival in the Land of the Rising Sun, she quickly joined training sessions with her new teammates.
Previously, the news of Bích Thủy moving to Japan to play sparked lively discussions among Vietnamese volleyball fans on various forums. Despite rumors suggesting possible issues with the contract, all procedures were completed successfully, and Bích Thủy officially became a member of the Okayama SeaGulls as planned.
Currently, the team has not announced Bích Thủy’s official jersey number, but the player born in 2000 remains confident and determined to prove herself in Asia’s top professional volleyball environment. With her height, blocking skills, and fast, effective attacks, she is expected to soon join the SeaGulls’ main lineup.
Thus, Vietnamese women's volleyball currently has two players competing in Japan, including the captain Trần Thị Thanh Thúy (Gunma Green Wings) and Trần Thị Bích Thủy (Okayama SeaGulls).
In 2025, Bích Thủy played for the Đức Giang Chemical team in the National Championship and also had a short stint playing in South Korea. Her consistent performance and professional spirit caught the attention of the coaching staff of the Japanese club.
Although currently training with her club in Japan, Bích Thủy remains part of coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt’s long-term plan for the Vietnamese women's national volleyball team as they prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
