Tran Thi Bich Thuy left her mark early in her second game with Okayama Seagulls at the 2025-2026 Japanese National Volleyball League.
Akiyoshi Kawamoto, head coach of Okayama Seagulls, recently expressed high praise for Tran Thi Bich Thuy - the Vietnamese national player who shone brightly in the team's victory over Denso Airybees in the 2025-2026 Japan Women's National Volleyball Championship (SV.League) on the afternoon of November 30, Hanoi time.
"Mira's blocks (Bich Thuy’s nickname) not only frequently disrupted the opponents' attacks but also created a clear highlight in the team's overall play. This performance shows the team is gradually building a stable system with potential for further development. We will leverage this win to continue improving in upcoming matches.", quoted from the translation by Nguyen M Duc - Volleyball Magazine 2.0.
After a somewhat challenging debut scoring only 4 points and a heavy loss to Denso Airybees, Tran Thi Bich Thuy delivered an excellent performance to help the "Seagulls" repay their previous defeat in the rematch. Okayama won 3-1, with the Vietnamese national player scoring 12 points (10 attacks, 1 block, 1 serve).
This marked Okayama Seagulls' second victory in 16 matches this SV.League season, ending a streak of six consecutive losses. In just her second game, Bich Thuy brought luck to the club - similar to what she achieved earlier in 2025 with GS Caltex Seoul Kixx (South Korea).
Following this match, Tran Thi Bich Thuy along with Tran Thi Thanh Thuy - currently playing for Gunma Green Wings - will soon return to Vietnam to join the national team, preparing for SEA Games 33 where coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s squad aims to win a historic gold medal.
